High profile journalist Hussein Mohamed has announced quitting Citizen TV.

This is after more than a decade in Royal Media Services as a prime news anchor.

His exit has come as a surprise to many bearing in mind that his former co-anchor Janet Mbugua quit the same media house three years ago.

But while announcing his exit, Mohamed, who is known for conducting high profile interviews including the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto, said he was quitting the screen job to “concentrate on other matters”.

It has been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I have enjoyed & relished every moment I shared with my colleagues at RMS. I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics & everything in between. See you soon,” he tweeted.

Twitter followers took the opportunity to wish the journalist well with unconfirmed reports suggesting that he is headed to the rebrabded K24TV of Media Max.
