Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho was earlier today arrested and detained at Nyali Police Station.
This is after the the “Sultan” stormed the said station to demand the release of 10 County Inspectorate officers who were supervising a demolition of buildings in Mombasa town.
The structures had allegedly been built on a land grabbed by tycoons, a sources privy to the incident told this writer.
His demands are said to have caused disturbance at the police station and he was therefore detained for several monutes before being released.
Mr Joho defended his gubernatorial seat in the August 8 election, beating Jubilee’s Mohammed Shabal and Wiper’s firmer Senator Hassan Omar.
