Why Kenyan TV Queen Grace Musalame is Suing #MissCurvyUganda2019

Uganda’s Ministry of Tourism could find itself in court should Kenyan tv girl Grace Musalame proceed with her legal actions against the department.

This is after the said Ministry allegedly used Musalame’s image on its poster to promote their beauty contest that will involve curvy women.

The official poster of the Miss Curvy Uganda bearing the image of Grace Musalame.

In her statement posted on her twitter account yesterday, Ms Musalame, who made a return to NTV with her new tv show ‘Unscripted’ claimed the Ugandan organisers used her image without her consent.

“My image and likeness was used without my permission.” Read part of her statement.

The Ugandan government is said to be holding this infamous event to promote curvy women as opposed to traditional slender contestants who dominate beauty competitions.

It’s however not clear why an office of such a calibre could use a renowned media personality’s image for such an event without seeking permission.

Our efforts to contact Uganda’s Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda proved futile as none of our inquiries had been answered by the time the editor of this site was publishing this article.
