Wetang’ula Moves to Political Parties Tribunal to Save Self

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has moved to the political parties tribunal in efforts to save his ouster from the leadership Ford Kenya party.

The embattled Senator has petitioned the Tribunal to declare the Wamunyinyi takeover illegal.

The Registrar of Political Parties on Friday allowed Dr Eseli Simiyu as Secretary General to proceed with the process of removing Wetangula and Mr. Chris Mandu Mandu in accordance with section 20 of the Political Parties Act as read with Ford Kenya Constitution.

Subsequently,  Dr Simiyu has already published Notice of intention to change party Leadership in compliance with Political Parties Act.

Wetang’ula has vowed to use all means available at his disposal to get or even buy conservatory orders from the High Court seeking to stall the process by Eseli-Wamunyinyi axis.

Even though the matter is already before the tribunal,  sources disclosed that Wetangula has instructed his lawyers to file another petition before the High Court this week.

Ford Kenya SG Dr. Eseli Simiyu shocked the nation when he staged a coup that has pushed Wetang’ula out of his comfort zone after replacing the former Foreign Affairs boss with Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi on interim basis..

However, the Wetang’ula faction dismissed Eseli’s changes and in return, ‘fired’ Eseli and Wamunyinyi from their party posts as SG nd Chairma respectively.
