Two vehicles suspected to be ferrying ballot papers have been impounded at Majengo area in Vihiga County by irrate residents.

The vehicles, a Toyota Fielder with registration number KCL 760L and a Toyota Hilux believed to be owned by a local businessman identified as Kobole, were allegedly ferrying marked ballot papers and original Form 34As.

Majengo market is located 40KM from Kisumu City on Kisumu-Kakamega highway.

According to eye witnesses, the residents impounded the vehicles at Majengo and overturned them in readiness to set them ablaze.

It’s believed that Mr Kobole, who is said to own the Kobole Supermarket, is a Jubilee Party supporter.

Police officers from GSU rushed to the scene and started shooting in the air to disrupt the protestors and brutally beating up and injuring two local MCAs.

Its not clear if the vehicles had been contracted to transport the said materials by the IEBC.
