Sports CS Rashid Mohamed Now States Future of Mumias Sugar

Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has issued a new hope in the revival of Mumias Sugar Company. 

Speaking in at the burial ceremony of the late Mama Anne Malala in Kholera Ward, Shikonesi village, Matungu Sub-County today Saturday 22nd of September 2018, the former ODM youth leader promised to use his position as the Sports Cabinet Secretary in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government to revive the fallen sugar miller.

“Mumias Sugar has been on her knees for long and I can’t sit back and watch the farmers in my backyard suffer when I am in government,” said Hon Rashid who hails from Munias.” Said Hon Rashid.

“I will use my position as the as the President’s appointee, not for nepotism but to initiate networks and discussions that can aid Mumias Sugar Company reclaim her lost glory.”

Hon Rashid recently intervened a move by auctionaires to punish Mumias following unpaid power bills running into billions. 

“With my intervention, the auctionaires halted their move to auction some properties owned by Mumias Sugar,” Said Rashid.

According to economists, Mumias Sugar Company needs roughly Ksh10 billion to resuscitate the ailing miller. 

He urged farmers to be patient as he works on the revival of the company. 

Mr Rashid has also asked Kenyans to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda and the fight against corruption. 

Hon Mohamed was accompanied by Hon. Mohammed Omoro and Mayoni Ward MCA Lubinus Oduor.
