Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa on Momday inspected the rebuilding of a school whose roof was blown away by wind a few weeks ago.
Pupils of Kibingei FYM Primary School in Kimilili Constituency had been going through hard times during their learning process since a platoon of heavy wind blew away a section of the school’s shelters.
But on Monday, the youthful MP inspected the construction of four classrooms and promised that all those condemed structures will be replaced by modern ones.
The inspection was on a complete facelift for all the buildings to be like Luanda Primary and Allan Bradlley.
He also promised to get the school tree seedlings to be planted round the school to guard the structures against the heavy wind.
“We will reconstruct the classrooms that were condemned to modern standards similar to Allan Bradley and Lwanda S.A Primary Schools,” he said.
The first time legislator also warned contractors against putting up shoddy buildings that may endanger the lives of the children.
“Contractors must observe the construction standards to avoid such scenarios of roofs being blown away in future, we dont want to repeat mistakes done by our predecessor.”
From Kibingei FYM, the Jubilee MP presided over the sharing of more than Ksh69,000 from the sale of chicken amongest the local Community Based Organisations (CBOs).

The CBOs included Umoja CBO, Kamsielo CBO, Maeni CBO and Fwesi Comparative from Kimingichi.
He later proceeded to launch the construction of 6,000 chicken capacity brooder at Fwesi Cooperative.
This was necessitated by the fact that the poultry project that kicked off at a humble beginning has grown and the two hatcheries that Hon. Didmus Barasa launched a few months ago have grown the chicken to over 600 chicken and the chicks are beyond capacity of the improvised brooder at Maeni CBO and Fwesi Cooperative which had resulted to under utilization of the two hatcheries at Kamasielo CBO and Umoja CBO from Sikhendu location.

The MP’s #KimililiPeopleFirst slogan has gained tremendous support from the residents of Kimilili Constituency with friends and foes watching the MP’s development record with admiration since he took over the parliamentary seat from Ford Kenya’s Suleiman Murunga.
Empowering the community groups within Kimilili Constituency was among the MP’s campaign manifesto.
