Raila Odinga Sends Amazing Message on Ida Odinga’s Birthday

Former Prime Minister (PM) and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amolo Odinga has sent a powerful message to his wife Ida Betty Odinga, on her birthday.

Born on August 24, 1950, Ida is celebrating 70 years of life today, and Odinga, taking to his social media accounts, described her as a charming source of guidance, inspiration, and strength for his family.

“Happy Birthday to my wife Ida, a witty and charming source of guidance, inspiration and strength for our family. From the first time I saw you my life changed immeasurably. We are grateful for your dynamic, adventurous spirit. May the Lord continue to bless your illustrious life!” Odinga said on his official Twitter account.

His son Raila Odinga Junior also took to his social media account to express his birthday wishes for her mother, wishing her happiness and love.

“Whatever makes you feel happy and loved Mama , that’s what i wish for you today. Happy birthday Mom !” Odinga Junior said.

On Saturday, 22 August, 2020, a party for Ida Odinga had been held at their residence in Karen, where friends and family joined to celebrate her 70th birthday.

Some of the guests included Jubilee Party vice-chairman David Murathe, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga, EALA member Oburu Oginga, Wajir MP Fatuma Gedi and NGEC commissioner Priscilla Nyokabi.

On her part, Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru termed Ida as “strong, wise, graceful and selfless,” having played a critical role in this nation.

“Joined Rt. Hon Raila Odinga, family & other leaders in celebrating Mama Ida’s Birthday. Ida Odinga you are Strong, Wise, graceful & selfless. Not many know or understand the critical role you play in this nation. God grant you many fruitful years ahead, full of laughter & love” Waiguru said.
