Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga (pictured, FILE), has revealed why he is now silent on the on-going corruption scandals in the Kenyan Government.

Speaking in Busia today – Saturday during the burial of Mama Margaret Shiundu, the mother of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s wife, the NASA leader said he is tired of speaking on corruption every now and then.

His supporters on social media have been questioning his silence on the National Youth scandal where over Ksh 9 billions were irregularly paid to some cartels on ‘unimaginable’ contracts.

Raila’s critics have suggested that the ODM Party leader could have benefited from the NYS looting, thus, remaining silent on the saga.

“Some people have been asking why I am now silent on the various scandals in Kenya – I have spoken enough and l am now tired.” Raila told the mourner after being invited by Governor Oparanya.

“I have revealed uncountable scams in the country and I don’t think I have the energy to reveal more.”

Kenya has been rocked by a series of mega corruption scandals including the Shs1.6 billion NCPB scam where cartels were allegedly paid huge amounts of money to supply ‘imported’ maize at the expense of the farmers.

Yesterday, Deputy President William Ruto issued a warning to corruption cartels and asked relevant institutions to prosecute the culprits.

Other leaders present at the funeral include Senate Speaker Rt Hon Kenneth Lusaka, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojamoong’ and Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa who also asked Mr Odinga to return ‘the favour’ and support a Luhya for the Presidency in 2022.
