PHOTOS: Nine Car Theft Suspects Arrested in Mombasa With Bhang, Shisha and Ksh. 100k

Nine car theft suspects were on Thursday arrested by police detectives based with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Nyali, Mombasa county.

Upon being arrested, the nine were also found to be in possession of several rolls of hang, shisha, and cash money amounting to Ksh. 100, 000.

“Nine suspects of car breaking and theft who have been operating within Mombasa County were today in the wee hours of the morning arrested by DCI Nyali detectives following a stealth operation at Furaha Apartments Hse no. A08 in Nyali, Mombasa” read a statement from DCI.

According to DCI, the nine include Imran Faud Mohamed-28yrs, Ismael Fuad Mohamed-26yrs Kelvin Osebe-30yrs Omar Safari Sanje-29yrs James Otieno Ochieng-32yrs Nancy Ekasiva Aloo-29yrs Julie Saida Magdalene-22yrs Brenda Juma-21yrs and Hamoud Mohamed Hamisi-30yrs.

“On searching the house, several rolls of bhang, shisha pot, a packet of shisha, Ksh. 100,000 in one thousand denominations and assorted mobile phones were found” the statement read.

Furthermore, three motor vehicles (KCV 751S Toyota Allion, KBV 161Q Toyota Mark X, and KCG 448C Nissan Note) believed to be getaway cars used by the gang during criminal operations were also detained.

The suspects have been placed in custody as further investigations continue.
