Nzoia Sugar FC made a meal out of Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League as the millers came from a goal down to down the defending champions.
The visitors had pretended to lead through Samuel Onyango in the 24th minute before Gaitan Masha and Moses Mwale fired in the second half to erupt the stands.
The win takes Nzoia to 17 points, 15 beind league leaders Tusker FC who equally lost by the same margin to newcomers Bidco United this afternoon.
The opening minutes had little paragraphs to pen home until the 24th minute when Samuel Onyango capitalised on a defensive miscommunication in the Nzoia box to tap home.

However, Gaitan edited the scoreboard the in the 60th minute before Mwale disrupted the then idle net in the dying minutes.
Coach Ibrahim Shikanda who had earlier on promised Gor a “thorough beating” during his pre-match briefing, hailed his team’s spirited fight in the last 10 minutes of the game.
“My boys played well, we fought hard, and I’m hoping we shall replicate the same against Bandari,” Shikanda said.
A disappointed Gor Mahia tactician Vaz Pinto said that they’ll aim to bounce back next week against KCB, who had also lost to the same Nzoia last weekend with a similar margin.
“We played well but lost, I can attribute this to fatigue, we have played eight games back to back, I want to assure fans we are going to improve against KCB.”
It’s not the first time that Gor Mahia have fallen victims to Nzoia Sugar FC at Mumias Complex Stadium.
In 2019, Nzoia beat Gor 1-0 in the same Kenya Premier league fixture when Hansen Ochieng netted the lone goal.
The win now floats Nzoia in the 9th position on the table after 14 matches, one position above their today’s victims who have played four games less.
In other matches, Vihiga United settled for a 0-0 draw against Western Stima in an “all Western” derby.
