
About 300 students from 8 wards of Mt. Elgon and Kimilili sub counties, beneficiaries of Governor Wangamati’s Scholarship, are currently undergoing a mentorship programme at St. Lukes Kimilili Boys High School, Kimilili.
With schools scheduled for opening in January 2021, The department of education seeks to enlighten the students on life skills, career choices, personal discipline and how to cope in school despite the Covid pandemic.
Morning Session has kicked off with Bishop Calistus Barasa mentoring the beneficiaries on “Education and Religion” and Mrs. Rosemary Waswa a former principal with experience of 38 years in teaching, taking the young scholars through “Principles of getting back to school” and “becoming a leader.”
The 8 Wards Targeted for today’s session include; Elgon, Kaptama, Kapkateny, Chepyuk, Kimilili, Kibingei, Kamukuywa and Maeni.
