Man Arrested by DCI Officers After Robbery in Bungoma

Police officers based at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Bungoma have today arrested a man who is suspected of being involved in a robbery with violence in Bungoma town.

The suspect, who has now been identified as Kuntai Charles Alube, was arrested after the vehicle with Reg. No. KCY 674G he had used for robbery was intercepted along Awasi/Chemili road.

“Working in collaboration with members of the public, DCI Detectives based at Bungoma County have intercepted a motor vehicle Reg No. KCY 674 G along Awasi/Chemilil road” DCI said in a statement.

According to DCI, the vehicle had been used in a robbery where the victim lost money, two mobile phones, and cheque books mong other personal items.

“The said vehicle was involved in a robbery with violence incident in Bungoma Town where a member of the public lost considerable amount of cash, two mobile phones, cheque books among other personal items,” they said.

It was also revealed that upon arrest, the suspect, Kuntai Charles Alube, was found in possession of five mobile phones and a pair of handcuffs.

The search is ongoing for two of his accomplices went missing.
