LifeCare Hospital Bungoma on Thursday 9th July, 2020, launched a Health Family Privilege Card to carter for those families that spend from their pocket whenever seeking medical attention.
The event, which was graced by the First Assistant County Commissioner – Bungoma County Mr. Samuel Osodo, took place at LifeCare Hospital grounds, brought excitement to the guests with many hailing the hospital management for coming up with such a brilliant idea to give back to the community.
The card, which costs Sh2,000 for a year, can benefit up to 5 individuals, that is, the principal member and his/ her four dependants, and it’s valid for a year from the date of issuance. However, any extra member is also legible at an extra fee of KSH 500 yearly.
Speaking during the glamorous launch, LifeCare Hospital Unit Head Mr. Ramesh Murugaswamy said the privilege card will target medium and low-income earners that may struggle to raise hospital bills for their loved ones.
“When you have this card, you plus your four preferred dependants enjoy all the benefits as our loyal clients for a full year and can renew it after a year at just Sh2,000 for the same benefits,” said Mr. Ramesh.
LifeCare Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Kevin Rombosia affirmed that the move is part of the facility’s commitment to ensure that each and every resident can access quality healthcare services at the facility without fear of raising cash.
‘We have been doing community outreaches through several free medical screening camps to reach out to those patients who don’t have funds for medical consultancy to enable them to get a diagnosis for their ailments. This Health Family Privilege Card is part of our community program to provide equal and quality healthcare services to all the members of the community,” said Ms. Pascalydiah Wekesa PR and corporate Sales Manager.
She also outlined the benefits of the card as follows:
- Free OPD specialty Consultation
- 20% discount on OPD investigations
- 20% discount on diagnostics like x-ray, MRI, CT Scan, Ultrasound
- 10% discount on IPD bill admission after Drugs, Consumables and Implants (DCI)
- Free ambulance services within a radius of 25km on emergency cases.
- Benefit for Principal members and 4 dependants of their own choice.
- The card is valid for one full year from the date of issuance.
Note: The Card costs KSh2,000 for 5 people. Any extra dependant is charged KSh500. Families with larger numbers like 10 can take two cards and divide amongst the family members.
