The English Premier League (EPL) 2019 – 2020 is set to restart on 17th June, 2020, after three months break following the outbreak of COVID 19 that affected a number of the leagues globally.
Unlike in the previous matches, EPL clubs will be playing behind closed doors as per the directives issued in an attempt to contain the spread of the pandemic.
The clubs are struggling to sign in new players following ban of fans into stadiums, something that has greatly affected most of the clubs as a result of lack of revenue.
Here are the latest transfer rumours for top clubs.
Chelsea – Timo Werner
￼Chelsea FC has offered a £200,00 a week contract to Werner after the RB Leipzig striker disclosed interest to move to Liverpool which failed.
The EPL leaders were unwilling to pay the release clause. According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool has faced major financial challenges after the cancellation of pre-season tour games.
Werner will be joining Frank Lampard’s – led team together with Hakim Ziyech who is joining the club from Ajax for £ 33M on July 1.
Chelsea is also targeting Leicester’s left-back Ben Chilwell.
Arsenal – Thomas Partey
Arsenal football club is rumoured to be seeking to sign Atletico Madrid’s defensive midfielder Thomas Partey.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal was ready to offer Alexandre Lacazette in a bid to secure the services of the midfielder, but recent reports link the Ghanaian midfielder to Arsenal after meeting Atletico Madrid’s demand for £ 43M for the player’s transfer.
The gunners are also in the final touches to secure Lille’s striker Victor Osimhen’s signature.
￼The move however will depend on whether or not the club will be giving an okay to Aubumayeng’s exit. The club announced that they will be keeping the striker until the end of his contract should they fail to get more than £ 20M on his transfer.
PSG is in talks with Arsenal over Aubumayeng’s transfer and it’s reported that the German based club is ready to offer £ 38M for the striker.
Other players eyed by the club include; Odosonne Edward – Striker ( Celtic), Federico Bernardeschi – Winger (Juventus), Philippe Coutinho – Winger Barcelona, on-loan Bayern Munich) among others.
Liverpool – Kalidou Koulibaly
Liverpool is in talks with Napoli’s center back Kiladou with recent reports establishing that the club’s coach is fighting for his signature.
The move will be dependent on the amount of money that EPL leaders will offer for the transfer. Manchester United and Newcastle are also fighting for the player’s signature with Manchester United having offered Napoli £ 71M for Kalidou’s signature.
Other players in the list are; Ousmane Dembele – forward (Barcelona), Ferran Torres – right-winger ( Valencia) among others.
Manchester United – Jadon Sancho
￼Manchester United is the recent club from EPL that is keen on signing Borussia Dortmund’s winger Jadon Sancho after the club was forced to review it’s spending this summer following the outbreak of coronavirus that affected the clubs financial status.
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid and Chelsea are have also entered the race to fight for Jason’s signature.
Other players in the list are; Raul Jimenez – Forward (Wolves), Moussa Dembele – Striker (Lyon) among others.
Manchester City – Cody Drameh
￼Man City is tracking Fulham’s teenage defender Cody Drameh.
Drameh who is one of the youngest potential defenders in EPL is eyed by Liverpool and Leeds
He has played for the under – 21 recorded a plausible work despite being 18 years old.
The player has one year before the end of his contract with Fulham.
