A Kiambu MCA was on Monday evening arrested together with his driver after the police caught him with car portraying the images of Deputy President Dr. William Ruto in photoshoped military fatigue (above, courtesy).
Mr. Julius Macharia Taki was arrested alongside his driver identified by the police as Mr. George Ngugi Kiarie and booked at Juja Police Station under OB 93/27/5/2019 at 2010HRS.

ARREST OF HON. JULIUS MACHARIA TAKI MCA WEITETHIE WARD.
TODAY 27/5/2019 POLICE OFFICERS ACTING ON A TIP OFF ARRESTED THE SAID MCA AND HIS DRIVER NAMELY GEORGE NGUGI KIARIE.
THE DUO WERE DRIVING A MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION NO. KCQ 918 U TOYOTA HIACE.
THE MOTOR VEHICLE HAD ITS BODY DISPLAYING PORTRAIT OF THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT HON. WILLIAM RUTO IN FULL MILITARY FATIGUE DEPICTING HIM AS THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
IT FURTHER DISPLAYED GRAPHICS OF THE COAT OF ARMS, NATIONAL FLAG OF KENYA.
THE MOTOR VEHICLE HAS BEEN DETAINED AT JUJA POLICE STATION YARD AWAITING PHOTOGRAPHY AND FURTHER INVESTIGATION.
THEY ARE TO BE ARRAIGNED AT THIKA CM’ S COURT FOR THE OFFENCE OF CONTRAVENING SECTION 3(a) CAP 99 L.O.K. OF THE NATIONAL FLAG, EMBLEMS AND NAMES ACT.

The arrest of the two has fueled speculations on social media about the influence of Dr. William Ruto in Central Kenya and the ability of the populous Mt. Kenya region supporting Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
