Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati has faulted those opposing his leadership, stating that he is doing everything to prepare the residents for the future.
Speaking at a funeral function in Siboti village, Siboti ward of Bumula Sub-County in Bungoma on Saturday September 26, 2020, Wangamati affirmed that his government is committed to investing in long term projects that will offer permanent solutions to challenges faced by the residents.
“The County Government has thrown weight in Education, Infrastructure, Water, Food security, Health, youth and Women empowerment and Trade,” he said.
“Last month, we launched a water drilling rig here in Siboti. This machine will bring to an end the perianal water challenges in our county. We are now drilling high calibre borehole across the county.”
The County boss also said the County Government will continue to support bright students who come from humble backgrounds through the Governor’s Scholarship program.
“Am building my legacy on the scholarship program. My administration is well prepared for the future of our children.” He added.
The Governor also reminded residents that the country is not yet out of the danger of COVID-19, calling on the public to strictly follow directives that were outlined recently by the ministry of health.
He directed the Sub County and Ward administrators to continue educating the public on the safety measures that should be adhered to as the world and the country strategize to contain the virus.
Governor Wangamati eulogized the late John Wekesi and Mama Judice Wekesi as wise, hardworking, God fearing and friends of his Administration.
Also present were area and Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga, CECMs Dr. Betty Mayeku (Education) Hon. Collins Mukhongo (Roads and Infrastructure), MCAs Hon. Simiyu Wamusai, Hon. Balala, Hon. Joram, Hon. Luseneka, and sub county administrators, among others.
This comes barely a week after the County Chief showcased his development track of three years since being elected during his state of the County address that took place at Kibabii University last Friday.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula who is also Wangamati’s status quo party leader in Ford Kenya has since criticized Wangamati’s address, saying one does not need to advertise what he has done to the people.
