Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Mocked on Twitter for His Jubilee Move

Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee camp.

Speaking in Mombasa during the president’s tour today, the former Human Rights activist welcomed the invitation by Deputy President William Ruto to join the ruling party.

He used the opportunity to attack the National Super Alliance (NASA) leadership led by Presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Mr Omar resigned a month ago as Wiper Party’s Secretary-General, citing lack of support from Hon Raila Odinga and his party leader Stephen Kalonzo.

Omar vied for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat but came a distant third to the incumbent namesake Hassan Joho of ODM and Jubilee’s Shabal Mohamed.

“We cannot have a situation where Raila is the president of this country and Hassan Joho as the governor of Mombasa,” he said today.

However, his move did not go well with several Kenyans on twitter.

But as proverbial that even a madman has relatives, the former Senator too had those who hailed his move.
