Facebook Deletes Kenya’s Most Popular Group With Over 2 Million Members

Social media giants Facebook deleted Kenya’s most popular Group, Group Kenya, which had over 2,120,871 members.

The reason behind the deletion isstill unknown, as our email to their head offices had not been responded to by the time of publication.

“At Group Kenya, we believe social media is a tool to think, to speak, and to check if the news is fake or not” read part of the bio of the group.

The group faced a similar situation in 2017, when it was deleted under the same unclear circumstances. Before being deleted, the group was home to millions of Kenyans who followed and commented on hot posts in the group.
