Selfies, smiles and overwhelming joy was the order of the day as close to two thousand graduands gathered at the graduation square at Kibabii University today in an auspicious ceremony presided over by Education Cabinet Secretary Amb Dr Amina Mohemed.

The ceremony, which was third for the institution since receiving it’s charter, saw two candidates graduate with PHDs.

Speaking at the event, Dr Amina congratulated the graduands and challenged the young men and women in black gowns to apply their acquired knowledge from their studies to bring a positive change in the society.

“With the resilience and the determination you have shown during your entire period here at the institution and bring a positive change to the society,” said Ambassador Amina who was representing President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who presided over last year’s ceremony was missing as he was believed to be engaged on other activities elsewhere.

The university also took the opportunity to launch it’s certification.

The ceremony, which was aired live on NTV, was also attended by the Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati, Bungoma County Assembly Speaker Emmanuel Situma, Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama among others.
