The Uefa Champions League is back in action with two electrifying fixtures scheduled for tonight.

Juventus vs Real Madrid

This fixture revives the memories of last season’s Final where Juventus suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.
Ten months later, they meet again after being drawn in the quatre finals.

Juventus come into the Quatres after eliminating English side Tottenham Hotspur while Real Madrid’s two legged wins easily saw off big-spending French giants Paris St. Germain.

Head-to-Head Statistics

There have been 19 fixtures between the two teams: Juventus have won 8 times, Real 9 times and two draws recorded between them.
Juventus have been able to eliminate Real Madrid in the last four matches they met in the knock-out stages.

Real Madrid last won at Allianz Stadium, Turin in 1962.
Juventus coincidentally face a Spanish team in the quatre finals for the second consecutive season.

Last season, they eliminated Barcelona with a 3-0 aggregate where they also started their first leg at home.

Both teams enjoy a predominance in the Champions League; Juventus have been finalists twice in the last three seasons while Real Madrid have never been eliminated at the quatre finals since 2011.

They have been in semi-finalists for four times and winners three times.

Players to watch

Former Real Madrid player Gonzalo Higuain maybe a thorn in the flesh against his former employers. He has five goals this season and scored in both legs of the round of 16.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance in the Champions League is remarkable. The Portuguese is the current all time top scorer in the competition.

Futhemore, the Portuguese has scored in all matches in the Champions League he has played for Real Madrid this Season and leads the golden boot race with 12 goals.

Sevilla vs Bayern Munich

Sevillistas will be welcoming German Champions Bayern Munich at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium tonight in another quatre final fixture which many bookmakers have tipped Bayern Munich as favourites.

Sevilla come into the quatre finals after a shock 2-1 aggregate win over Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United while Bayern comfortably eased past Turkish side Besiktas FC.

Head-to-Head and Statistics

It is the first time for Sevilla to qualify for a Champions League quatre final. Their best previous record was the round of 16.

This fixture will be the first meeting between the two sides in a competitive match.

Last season, Bayern Munich were eliminated by Real Madrid in the quatre finals. They have again been drawn against a Spanish side.
Bayern Munich are arguably the best side in this fixture as far, making two appearances in the quarter finals, three semifinals, three finals and lifting the trophy qince within the last eight seasons.

In their respective last league matches, Sevilla’s last minute lapse saw them concede two late goals to draw against Bacelona over the weekend while Bayern Munich saw dismissed rivals Borrusia Dortmund in a 6-0 thriller.

Players to Watch

Wissam Ben Yedder’a brace helped Sevilla ease past United to qualify for the quatre finals. The marksman has 8 goals in the competition, 4 behind leading top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since his move to Allianz Arena from Borussia Dortmund, Roberto Lewandoski has established himself as one of the deadliest attackers in the Champion League.
