Bungoma Superstars Fc will host Muhoroni Youth Fc tomorrow at Sudi stadium starting from 3PM,in a must win match if they are to keep their National Super League qualification hopes alive.

The Bungoma based club is currently placed second in the FKF Division One Zone B league, 7 points behind leaders Vihiga Bullets FC. Coming from a 1-0 loss to Transmara Sugar Fc over the weekend, the team will now have to collect maximum points in their remaining four fixtures in order to finish at least second to book a qualification playoff slot.

Financial Struggles

It has not been an easy season for the Bungoma based club, which has majorly faced a lot of financial struggles. The team has been operating at the help of well wishers, having failed to get a sponsorship deal.

The financial struggles have seen the team drop it’s performances since it has been even difficult to honour league matches, leave alone catering for players allowances and salaries.

Supporting the Team

The team is now calling upon well wishers to help the team get finance to manage it’s remaining games and even potential longterm sponsors. To support the team, you can send your contribution using MPESA, Business No:247247, ACCOUNT NO-0480275494496. For more enquiries, you can contact the Team Manager Edwin Simiyu on +254722213112.

County Government Put on the Spot

The plight of the team comes at a time when the County Government of Bungoma has been on the limelight for poor governance on sports matters. This has been evident with the struggles the local teams within the county are facing. For instance, Nzoia Sugar FC which is the only team representing the county in the Kenyan Premier League and Bungoma Superstars who are in FKF Division One.

These are teams which are trying to upscale the football status within the county yet they are not recognized in their financial struggles.

The Sports Ministry of Bungoma County has been put on the limelight for their ignorance in developing sports within the county.

I call upon well wishers and members of the public especially within Bungoma County to give support to local sports.
