Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula may lose his position as Senate Minority Leader any time from now.

This is after the recent political scripts that have dramatically unfolded in the country.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) Co-principal and also the leader of Ford Kenya party is enjoying his position as the Senate Minority Leader for the second consercutive term now, a position he earned as part of the MoU for supporting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s two presidential bids.

The fallout

However, his latest fallout with Raila Odinga after his conspicuous missing durinng the ‘swearing-in’ ceremony for the Opposition leader as the People’s President on January 30tg has caught many by surprise.

Reports leaked to this Wakajuaness.Com from the ODM inner circles who requested for anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter indicate that the largest party in the fading NASA coalition is plotting to dethrone Senator Wetang’ula for allegedly being ‘unloyal’ to the NASA leader.

No joy-riding

With Raila Odinga having finally joined his perennial nemesis President Uhuru Kenyatta without the backing of his NASA Co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, the ODM wing is plotting to crack the whip on Wetang’ula, whom they believe, is merely enjoying ‘their position’ albeit not showing any commitment for the NASA agenda.

The same claimes have been confirmed by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruyot that the ODM Senators are working on revoking the rewards given to the incompetent coalition partners.
“With what am hearing from our ODM counterparts, Senator Moses Wetang’ula is going to be stripped off his Senate Minority post.” Said the Jubilee Senator during a morning talk show on a local tv station today, Tuesday.

It will not be the first time that a parliamentary group is ejecting a house leader.

On January 23rd, 2018, Jubilee party kicked out rebel MPs from house committees as a punishment for their contempt against the party’s will.

Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter was ejected from the Parliament House Committee on Labour and Social Welfare and his position as the chairperson replaced by Hon Ali Wario.
