Manchester United renowned fanatic and Bungoma businessman Dancan Macheso on Friday, through a discussion on a WhatsApp group, promised a flight to a Chelsea fan if the team will finish ahead of the ‘Red Devils’ this season.

The bold promise came about following discussions on Sports Chat, a popular WhatsApp group for sports fans where Macheso was responding to a post made by Paul Ombati, a sports analyst and Chelsea die-hard fan.

The discussion started after Ombati shared a screenshot of a tweet that mocked United player Jesse Lingard, who was compared to Hakim Zeyech and Timo Werner for not scoring in EPL this season.

Macheso responded by telling Ombati that despite the fact that they are signing Timo Werner, Chelsea fans don’t have any moral authority to lecture Manchester United, whom they have failed to beat in all three times they have met this season.

“I know uv signed Timo Werner ,diz season u have not won any match against man Utd,u have no moral n legal authority to lecture any Utd player, on a lite note brah” Macheso said.

Ombati, however, responded by telling off Macheso that Chelsea’s achievement was not about beating Manchester United, but rather winning trophies and securing a Champions League Spot.

“Beating Manchester United is not an achievement. We are focused on trophies and a Champions League spot,” Ombati said.

It is there that an adamant Macheso told Ombati that Chelsea won’t even finish ahead of United this season, before Ombati dared him to stake anything on that, open to all group members.

“Nitakulipia flight from Nairobi to Kisumu at ua convenient date if we cant,” Macheso promised.

Speaking with Wakajuaness.Com in an interview, Macheso has said that he is confident United will beat off Chelsea in the top four race, basing on their return of key players and remaining Chelsea’s fixtures.

” You look at us (Manchester United), our key players like Rashford and Pogba are coming back. The combination between Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will actually be terrific!” he said, before talking on Chelsea’s fixtures.

“If you look at Chelsea’s remaining 9 fixtures, they have a tough task facing the top three teams: Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester, and two London derbies against Westham and Crystal Palace. This is where they will lose points,” he revealed.

With the Premier League set for return on 17th June after a break due to COVID-19, Chelsea are currently fourth-placed with 48 points, three ahead of Manchester United.

Furthermore, Ombati was also promised a brand new original Chelsea jersey by Manases Barasa, who is also a fan of Manchester United.

” Chelsea cannot finish ahead of us. In any unusual even that it happens, you (Ombati) should come for a new brand Chelsea jersey, original stuff, which you will board the plane with,” Barasa said.

Speaking with Wakajuaness.Com, Ombati has reveled in the promise, terming it as a blessing in disguise since he has always been wishing to have a flight since 2017.

“It has always been my dream and part of my New Year’s resolutions to have a flight, be it local or international for the last three years in vain. This could now be a blessing in disguise coming my way” he said.

According to him, Chelsea are well poised to finish even ahead of Leicester come the end of the season, and this could be a ‘sure bet’.

“The notion that we have not played the top teams ahead of us by Macheso is misplaced, those will be fixtures just like any other. Our team has come back to shape with the return of Loftus Cheek, Pulisic among other players and I have no doubt we can even finish at the third place” he said confidently.

Ombati believes that the tough fixtures will be against Leicester and the bottom laced teams fighting off relegation.

“EPL has always been unpredictable and with nine games remaining, I know our fixture against Leicester will be tough since if we win, we can overtake them. The other tricky fixtures will be against relegation teams like Norwich and Watford. Liverpool would have won the League and City are assured of number two” he stated.

Whom do you think and wish can win this promise more of a bet?
