A Ford Kenya Youth Leader has lost his life through a tragic road accident.
Mr Gaylord Okinda (pictured)’s car is said to have been involved in a head-on collision along the Southern by-pass in Nairobi this afternoon.
Until his death, the Ford Kenya party activist was vying for the post of SONU Chairman at the University of Nairobi.
In 2013, Gaylord vied for the County Representative seat for Kileleshwa ward but lost.
He has also been a human rights activist and hailed from Busia. His sudden demise has been received with shock and disbelief on social media platforms.
“It’s true we have lost Gaylord,” read a tweet send to Wakajuaness.Com from Ford Kenya’s official twitter handle.
His friends also expressed their shocking disbelief on social media, remembering him as young, cheerful gentleman who always wanted the best.
Innocent Ngare wrote, “You guys are joking; I talked to Gaylord Okinda yesterday,” but Ngare he didn’t lack a response from Angela Achieng, “…and he died today.”
Graig Ojwang’ posted: “RIP Gaylord, RIP my dear friend,” alongside a photo of the damaged car that the departed was said to be driving at a high speed.
Ford Kenya is a Kenyan political party led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula and is also part of the coalition, National Super Alliance (NASA) led by Rt Hon Raila Odinga.
Though the party’s twitter feed has confirmed the reports to this publication, the party leaders could not be reached for comments by the time we were going to press.
