A governor from Nyanza region is facing arrest after a court on Thursday issued a warrant of arrest.
Governor Peter Anyang Nyong and his sister Risper Nyagoy face arrests for failing to appear before the court as required following an inheritance case involving their family.
Justice Tripsisa Cherere in a ruling, had ordered Mr. Nyong’o and his sister to include all children belonging to their two sisters, as beneficiaries of their late father’s multimillion-shilling property.
According to court records, the the property includes 100 acres in Miwani and flats along Jogoo Road in Nairobi, as well as others parcels of land in Manyatta, Tamu, Milimani estate and East Rata in Seme sub-county, Kisumu.
Governor Nyong’o joins a list of other County chiefs to be arrested while in office among them Sospeter Ojamoong’ of Busia and Ferdinand Waititu of Kiambu County.
