At least thirteen people have been confirmed dead and dozens in critical conditions after a passenger bus belonging to Eldoret Express collided head-on with a truck.
The fatal accident occurred at 1.30AM at a place called Pala, about 3KM from Awasi trading centre in Kisumu County.
Local police reported that the bus was heading to Nairobi from Kisumu and that the bus driver was overtaking a sugar cane-ferrying tractor before it came head-to-head with an incoming truck.
